Need of Anti Oxidant for polymer Processing

During the processing at elevated temperature, all the polymeric material undergo thermal degradation in the presence of atmospheric oxygen. All the critical aspects should be kept in consideration in order to select antioxidant carefully. Degardation of polymers causes in the form of following:

• Changes in color
• Long term aging

Polymers are extensively used in automative components, electronic goods, furniture, appliances & parts. For this, polymers should be protected from outdoor exposure. To assure this, antioxidants are added to polymers in order to protect them against thermal degradation process.
